Welcome back! When we last left off this tour, I showed you around the first floor (in this post) and the second floor (in this post) as it looked on the day we moved in - cloudy day dark photos and all!
In this post, we'll pick up where we left off, headed up to the third floor attic space.
But first, here's a drawing of the layout of the third floor.
OK, let's head upstairs...
There are two bedrooms up here, and one very small bathroom. But one of my very favorite features is the upstairs landing and library wall. The landing is just big enough for a big comfy chair...
and there are shelves here for every book we could ever own!
Turning into the door at the end of the library wall, you enter the blue bedroom. It's got two windows overlooking the north side yard (and one window A/C unit to help on hot days).
There's a deep dormer window on the front side of the house.
On the back side of the house is an empty wall for the bed, and a closet that is in the eaves of the roof, running the length of the bedroom.
Some more shelves back up to the library wall on the other side.
On both sides of the dormer are two generous storage closets - one is cedar lined and the other has shelving for toys, linens, or whatever.
Heading back out to the hallway, across the hall into the opposite bedroom...
The red bedroom is pretty much the mirror image of the blue bedroom, except it has a ceiling fan instead of a window A/C unit. Two windows overlook the south side of the house...
The dormer on the front of the house is flanked by storage closets - again one lined with cedar and the other with shelving.
There are more shelves on the wall near the hallway, ...
... and another storage space under the eaves running the length of the room.
Both of these attic bedrooms are very generously sized... unlike the bathroom which is on the front of the house between the bedrooms. This bathroom has NOT been remodeled recently... that's on the "to do" list for us. But it's functional and clean, even if it's old and out of date.
Watch your head on that dormer ceiling corner above the toilet!
The shower/tub is cozy but operable.
That's all for the third floor. I'll have one last post sharing the remaining parts of the house.

Curious about the outside of our new house? Check out this Yard Tour from June 2016. This 1/2 acre has plenty of projects and things to keep us busy every summer for a long time!!!
I'd love it if you'd follow me on Facebook and Pinterest. Thanks!!!
