Welcome!

Welcome to Harmony Hills Home and Garden!  I'm so glad you're here!

You're excited.  You're inspired. You're eager.  You're ready to get outside and get some dirt under your fingernails, to turn that little patch of grass into your own personal paradise...  Ready to decorate your home to reflect your unique style... But you don't know where to start?

At Harmony Hills Home and Garden, we've got information, inspiration and encouragement to help you turn your little corner of the world into a haven for you and your family.

Here are some things you can count on here at Harmony Hills Home and Garden:
  • plenty of hands-on, step by step projects with instructions and photos to guide you
  • a healthy dose of Do-It-Yourself attitude to encourage you
  • a realistic recognition of when it's a good idea to call in the professionals to assist you
  • a growing community of like-minded home and garden enthusiasts to support you
We're tackling our own "new to us" property here at Harmony Hills. So we'll be working side by side with you to pull our yards, gardens, and homes into shape.  We'll tackle those overgrown shrubs, tidy up the flowerbeds, and get the grass looking great.  We'll create a home and garden that nurtures us and makes us, our families and our guests feel right at home.

Meet the Homeowners

I'm Jenny, and this is my husband Dave.  We've been homeowners for over 25 years, first in three other homes, and now here in this new-to-us old home in Baltimore, MD. We raised our two kids though the early years of homeownership, and now find ourselves in an empty next phase of life.  We've learned so much about homeownership over the years from our family and friends and neighbors, from TV, from books and magazines, and the internet.  Yet I'm still learning new things every single day about how to care for a suburban yard, garden and home.   So I figure I would share our adventures as we settle into our new-to-us home, so new gardeners or new homeowners out there can follow along and learn as we go.

We're gonna have a lot of fun here, I think, caring for this old home and the property around it.  We're going to be doing lots of projects, improvements, changes, and updates to this old home and garden.   Along the way, I'll share my tips and tricks, show you how I do things, and maybe give you some ideas that you can do in your own home and garden.    I'm looking forward to making friends, and getting to know you.   I love connection - please do contact me via any of these methods so we can share ideas.

One note of warning - it's not going to be "picture perfect" around here.   So many blogs show only the beautiful finished products, the "no weed" version of their gardens, the perfectly photographed views of their artfully arranged homes.   No, not here.   Here we're going to show it like it is, and it's not always going to be magazine-worthy.   It's going to be real, and sometimes pretty but sometimes messy.  I hope you'll feel comfortable visiting here, and I hope you'll share your ideas on solving our challenges with us.  I hope you'll feel welcome and ready to relax amongst friends.

I'm so glad you visited - I hope you'll stay and take a look around, and when you're done, I hope you'll come back again soon!
